Songs of praise

Songs of praise is a chance for anyone who enjoys singing hymns and songs of worship as part of a full and lively church, to choose at least one of the hymns or songs they sing.

All ten of the hymns and worship songs in each service are chosen by the members of the congregation.

How to choose a hymn or song of worship

If you’d like to choose a hymn or worship song for the next Songs of praise, you can:

  • fill in one of the forms (which you’ll find at the back of the church a week or two before) and leave it in the box marked ‘Songs of praise’
  • phone me, Roger Powell, on 07971 888776
  • email me at rmpowell@btinternet.com.

You can give either the title or the first line of the hymn or song – and, if possible, please include a short note to tell us why the one you’ve chosen is special to you.

You don’t need to tell us your name or give us your contact details, unless you would like us to get back in touch with you.

When is it on?

If you’d like to join with us in Songs of praise, the service is on whenever there’s a 5th Sunday in the month (which is 4 or 5 times a year).

It usually starts at 6.00pm, and is held at either St Bartholomew’s Tardebigge, St Philip’s Webheath, or St Mary’s Lower Bentley.
