Spring Greens

The Spring Greens is a group for women of all ages who share a wide range of interests – and a young outlook.

We enjoy a variety of activities throughout the year, arranging events for the local community from summer walks to seasonal crafts and talks from invited speakers.

We aim to offer something for everybody.

Whether you decide to come alone or with a friend, you can be sure of a warm welcome!

When and where we meet

We usually meet on the 3rd Thursday of every month – at 7.45pm in the church hall

Check the Facebook page for updates (see below), as this can change

What we do

As a non-profit organisation we donate the proceeds of our various activities to a few nominated charities at the end of each year.

Each year we pack shoe boxes full of gifts for ‘Operation Christmas Child’ (Samaritan’s Purse UK) and we have our ever popular ‘Stir Up Thursday’ every November making Christmas puddings.

We are also sponsoring a child at the Spring of Life school in Sierra Leone through ‘The Cherish Fund’ charity.

At the end of each meeting we always spend a moment for reflection and prayer. If there is something or someone you’d like us to pray for, please let us know – you can do this anonymously by leaving a note on the entrance table.

As Spring Greens we ask that God blesses us with enough foolishness to believe that we can make a difference in this world, so that we can do what others claim cannot be done. (Taken from ‘A Franciscan Blessing’.)

There is no membership fee, but we ask for a £2.50 subscription each meeting. This covers the costs of tea, coffee or squash and a slice of home-made cake.

There may be an additional charge for some activities, such as the cost of ingredients for our ‘Stir Up Thursday’.
