Spring Greens

Who we are

The Spring Greens is a ladies’ group for women of all ages with a young outlook. Although many of us are Mothers of pre-school or school age children, the Spring Greens is a group for women of all ages; some of us are Grandmothers and/or retired; some meetings/activities attract teenagers; we would like to think that there is something for everybody.

As a non-profit organisation we donate the proceeds of our various activities to a few nominated charities at the end of each year. We are also sponsoring a child at the Spring of Life school in Sierra Leone through ‘The Cherish Fund’ charity.

What we do

We enjoy a variety of activities. Each year we pack shoe boxes full of gifts for ‘Operation Christmas Child’ (Samaritan’s Purse UK) and we have our ever popular ‘Stir Up Thursday’ every November making Christmas puddings. We enjoy a summer walk in July and throughout the year enjoy craft activities and invite speakers. We also arrange events for the local community.

Fun and Fellowship
Here we are, decorating cupcakes following a cake icing and modelling demonstration given by an invited guest.

At the end of each meeting we always spend a moment for reflection and prayer. If there is something or someone you’d like us to pray for, please let us know – or anonymously if you prefer by leaving a note on the entrance table.

As Spring Greens we ask that God blesses us with enough foolishness to believe that we can make a difference in this world, so that we can do what others claim cannot be done. (Taken from ‘A Franciscan Blessing’.)

When and where we meet

We usually meet on the third Thursday of each month at 7.45pm at St Bartholomew’s Church Hall, Tardebigge.

There is no membership fee; we simply ask for a £2.50 subscription each meeting which includes a cup of tea, coffee or squash and a slice of home-made cake. (There may be an additional charge depending on the activity e.g. Ingredients for our ‘Stir Up Thursday’).

Whether you decide to come alone or with a friend you can be assured of a warm welcome!
